July is the month of the Most Precious Blood of Jesus. Celebrating with the kids can be as easy as mixing up some red jello!
You can get plastic wine glasses at the Dollar Tree. These were made for my little brother's first communion, so they also had marshmallow slice "hosts". Just pour in the jello into the wine cups when it's liquid and let it set up in the cups.
Adding marshmallow slice "hosts" after the jello is firm is optional.
Kids think this is super cool, and it's sure to put a smile on their face! If you enjoyed this post, get free updates by email or RSS.
Lacy~ This is a great idea, easy and fun. And definitely gets the point across! Thank you for sharing and working so hard to bring us Catholic icing!
ReplyDeleteThat is super cute! I may file that one away for my middle son's first communion in two years... it would also be cute for the First Communion REP class as a treat... love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lacy for sharing another great idea to share our Catholic faith to our children! Come visit me at "A Slice of Smith Life".
ReplyDeleteYour button looks so "sweet" on my blog! Thanks, Tracy

ours are in the fridge setting right now. But, I have to admit I was a little nervous about making them......Is Catholic Icing turning Protestant:D Hahaha....I know we arent presenting it as any kind of ceremony....but, my Protestant alarm was going off:D
ReplyDeleteWonderful idea. I can see where some people are uneasy with making snacks that look like the Holy Eucharist. But I'm all for themes! I think it is a fun reminder at the party what the day was about. Sometimes when we leave the Sacrament (Baptism, Communion, Confirmation, Marriage, Holy Orders) and leave to the Reception - we get wrapped up in gifts, socializing and food. Simple hints like this treat can bring us back to memory of why we gathered. Good idea Lacy!
