St. Rose of Lima- Don't Let Her Feast Day Pass You By!

The feast of St. Rose of Lima is coming up on August 23. She is the patroness of Latin America, the Phillipines, needle workers, and against vanity. She herself was very beautiful, and she would rub pepper on her face to ruin her own complexion. She is usually depicted with a rose crown on her head. Here are some ways you and the kids can remember her on her feast day!

Paper Dali has a free printable St. Rose of Lima Paper Doll
(It prints in black & white so your kids can color it)

St. Rose of Lima said “Apart from the cross there is no other
ladder by which we may get to heaven.” Which is why I love
these St. Rose of Lima Cookies from Under Her Starry Mantel

Catholic Online has a St. Rose of Lima Fun Fact Sheet
for kids. I really think these sheets are neat!

St. Rose of Lima is one of my favorites! As always, have fun celebrating the Liturgical Year at home with your kids! :-)

  2. No, Vee, thank YOU for sharing the doll :-)

  3. Lacy, just back from several days away. re your question, I've ordered twice from Catholoic Artworks. the first time took 10 weeks. the second time took 8 weeks. The first time, they answered my emails and actually called me. the second time they did not respond at all. I love their stuff, and plan to order the faith combo CD and the number 7 CD, but wonder how long it'll take to get here.

  4. Gardenia- I've only been waiting for 6 weeks, so I guess I have some more waiting to do...

  5. I just adore your sweetest little blog on the block! =D
When I recieved the latest internet meme, I thought of you!

  6. Hi Lacy! Thanks for sharing the St. Rose activities! Our 4th child's middle name is Rose so I hope to share these things with my "cupcakes" on St. Rose's Feast day :) Have you heard of the Travel Rosary yet that a man invented? I just heard about it on Catholic radio in my area. I thought you would like to find out more information about it. Here is the website if you want to check it out:

  8. My Confirmation Saint! I love her so much and am due any day! It would be cool to have the baby on either of her Feast Days (N.O. Aug. 23, or Trad. Aug. 30!) Thanks for the post! There is also a Glory Story of St. Rose of Lima on CD! My kids love to hear it!

  9. We made a crown of roses in honor of the crown of thorns she is known to have worn. My daughter Rose really felt special.

  10. With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any
issues of plagorism or copyright infringement? My site has a lot of unique
content I've either authored myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my agreement. Do you know any techniques to help protect against content from being ripped off? I'd definitely appreciate
